Address:
Tiffin-Seneca Public Library
77 Jefferson St
Tiffin, OH 44883

On Tuesday, September 26, the Library will host “Glitter & Glue: Art Deco Sunburst Mirror,” at 6:30 p.m. in the Frost Kalnow Room. Glitter & Glue is an in-person adult craft program. Participants will make a sunburst mirror inspired by art deco design. This event is free and registration is required by visiting the online calendar at www.tiffinsenecalibrary.org. This is one of two additional programs occurring as part of the annual Foundation Speaker series.

The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library will welcome Abbott Kahler, author of The Ghosts of Eden Park: The Bootleg King, The Women Who Pursued Him, and the Murder That Shocked Jazz-Age America on Tuesday, October 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Camden Falls Reception & Conference Center as part of the annual Foundation Speakers series.

The Ghosts of Eden Park is the true crime story of bootlegger George Remus and the murder that shocked the nation. Nicknamed “King of the Bootleggers,” George and his wife Imogen lived the lavish life in Cincinnati in the Prohibition Era. By the summer of 1921, Remus owned 35 percent of all the liquor in the United States, and pioneering prosecutor Mabel Walker Willebrandt was determined to bring him down. Copies of the book are available at the Library. The e-book is available on the Ohio Digital Library and the Libby app, and the audiobook can be found on hoopla. Books will be available for purchase at the event, and a Q & A session and book signing will follow the authors presentation. The event is free and open to the public.

On Thursday, October 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Frost Kalnow Room, local business owner Dave Spridgeon will talk about the history of bourbon, the difference between bourbon and whiskey, and more. This is a free program and registration is not required. This is one of two additional programs occurring as part of the annual Foundation Speaker series.

The Foundation Speakers series brings an outstanding writer, artist, or public figure to inform and engage the community once each year and provides the chance to gain insight and inspiration directly from those helping to shape our culture and our world.  The series is made possible through generous funding by the Tiffin-Seneca Library Foundation and the many donors who have contributed to the Foundation over the years. Please call 419-447-3751 or log on to www.tiffinsenecalibrary.org for more information.
