Those Magical Dames: A Look at Women in Magic

The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library will host magician Jania Taylor for “Those Magical Dames: A Look at Women in Magic” on Thursday, June 15 at 6:00 PM in the Frost Kalnow Room.

Magic has always been thought of as a male-dominated field, where women were seen as the beautiful assistant and not the performer. However, magic actually has a rich history of leading female performers. This program features six overlooked female magicians, from those who paved the way in the 1800s by performing on steamer ships and trains, to those performing on modern-day stages. Get a peek at their trials and triumphs, and even see some of the magic they performed.

This program is open to all adults. No registration is necessary. This program is part of the 2023 Summer Reading Program.
