The Historical Octagon House & Farm
Just beyond Green Springs, the Historical Octagon House & Farm is where history, hospitality, and countryside beauty meet. Built before 1860, this rare eight-sided home has been thoughtfully preserved and updated, offering guests a one-of-a-kind destination for weddings, celebrations, and overnight stays.
The Octagon House tells a story spanning more than 160 years. Originally constructed by Thomas Dunnage, it reflects a unique architectural style promoted by Orson Squire Fowler. Over the decades, families farmed and raised children here, and in 2021 Bill and Jeanne Frankart began a new chapter, carefully restoring the property and transforming it into a welcoming retreat.
Today, the farm offers a rustic yet modern barn venue that accommodates up to 250 guests, complete with heating, cooling, and restrooms. Couples can say “I do” surrounded by farmland before celebrating in the beautifully restored barn. The Octagon House itself provides overnight accommodations with three bedrooms, two and a half baths, a full kitchen, laundry, and inviting gathering spaces. Guests can relax indoors, enjoy games in the recreation area, or explore three acres of woods and yard.
Conveniently located just 15 minutes from Fremont, Tiffin, and Bellevue and less than an hour from Cedar Point, it’s both peaceful and accessible. Whether for a wedding, family gathering, or a weekend getaway, the Historical Octagon House & Farm offers a timeless setting where history is honored and memories are made.
