Press Release Provided by the Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market–

Help the Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market celebrate National Farmers Market Week with a Chalk Drawing Contest! Participate in their sidewalk chalk drawing contest! Participants will have up to three hours to work on their sidewalk chalk design. At noon the vendors will vote on their favorite design. There will be prizes for the winners. Two participants can work on each space. Please sign up in advance! Sign up with this link: https://forms.gle/C9nndemBHtasiS2T6 or call Market Manager, Kirsten Kemner, at 419-266-4487.

Another way to participate includes giving your local market a Facebook testimony on why you choose to shop at the farmers market! Comment on any of their farmers market posts on their Facebook page to be entered to win. They will draw three winners, winning $15, $10, and $5 to shop with at the farmers market for sharing your story!

The third way to help support National Farmers Market Week is to simply shop local! A big shout out to Sutton Bank for making all this festive fun possible at the Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market.

Why celebrate?

Spending thousands of years and cultures across the globe, farmers markets are rooted in our past, present, and future. Adaptable, flexible, and durable, farmers markets show up for their communities during times of crisis, celebration, and everything in between.

Farmers Markets allow us to eat, shop, connect, and more! Across the country, farmers markets are defining their role in our communities. Markets are not only essential to local food systems, but they also increase opportunities for us to learn, grow, and work together. Farmers markets are designed in partnership with the people they serve and create a space where market operators, farmers, shoppers, and neighbors can collaborate to meet the evolving needs of their community. Farmers markets foster direct relationships between community members and farmers which can work to create a more fair and sustainable food system. Farmers markets are hubs for connection and collective action around shared values.

Your local farmers work tirelessly to ensure you have a sustainable local food economy. Make sure to visit the Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market not only during this exciting time to celebrate, but every week!
