History in the Making: Join Fostoria’s Unofficial World Record Attempt
Community Invited to Participate in Unofficial World Record Attempt During Big Boy 4014 Visit
Registration now open for participants to help create the largest human image of a train

Community members and visitors are invited to be part of a unique experience taking place during Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014’s visit to Fostoria on Tuesday, July 14, by participating in an attempt to create the largest human image of a train, an unofficial world record.
Organizers are seeking 400 participants to form the outline of a train at the Fostoria Iron Triangle Rail Park following the public display of Big Boy No. 4014 to set a new unofficial world record. The current record is 336 people. Participation is free, but advance registration is required.
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous local donor, the first 400 registered participants will receive a complimentary commemorative event T-shirt (Black, Size 2XL shirts only), produced locally by Beyond Laser Creations in downtown Fostoria.
Participants should plan to arrive at the Fostoria Iron Triangle Rail Park (499 S. Poplar St.) by 3:30 PM to check in on Tuesday, July 14, with the official photo being taken at approximately 4 PM. Upon check-in, participants will be assigned to designated sections for the record attempt.
If registrations exceed 400 participants, additional registrants will be placed on a waitlist and contacted if space becomes available.
Additional details about the Big Boy 4014 visit, including the full schedule of events, parking information, activities, and participant instructions, will be announced in the coming weeks.
