Downtown Tiffin is gearing up to host its annual Downtown Trick or Treat – Third Thursday on October 19th starting at 4:30 pm. Participating Downtown merchants will be passing out candy and treats to young trick-or-treaters. Costumes are not only welcomed but encouraged.
One exciting addition to this year’s celebration is “The Great Pumpkin Drop,” which will be conducted by the Tiffin Fire/Rescue Division at 6:30 pm in City Lot 6. Fire Chief Chappell expresses his enthusiasm, saying, “The Tiffin Fire/Rescue Division is excited to be a part of the first-ever Pumpkin Drop Downtown Tiffin event! Watching the annual Downtown Trick or Treat grow each year, we wanted to do something to make it even better. Dropping pumpkins from up to 100 feet above the ground seemed like an exciting way to conclude the afternoon’s events. We look forward to seeing a great turnout!”
Students from Vanguard-Sentinel Career and Technology Centers-Sentinel campus will pre-decorate 12 pumpkins to be dropped. During the 3rd Thursday event, the pumpkins will be on display in City Lot 6 where the community will have an opportunity to donate/sponsor each pumpkin. The funds generated will help support the SkillsUSA program for the students.
In addition to the Trick-or-Treat and Pumpkin Drop, the annual Downtown merchant Halloween window decorating contest will take place on October 19th. Visitors are encouraged to participate in the fun by casting their votes via QR code at each participating location.
We can’t wait to see the streets of downtown packed with people, costumes, candy, and fun for all! See you there!
