Heidelberg University-Community Chorus Spring Concert

With the theme “How Do I Love Thee?” the Heidelberg University-Community Chorus will perform its spring concert.

Under the direction of Dr. Greg Ramsdell, the chorus brings together singers from both Heidelberg and the surrounding community for concert performances and the enjoyment of choral music.

According to Ramsdell, this year’s theme was chosen in response to the last two years and the devastating impact the COVID pandemic had on so many aspects of our lives. “One of the most unfortunate consequences of the pandemic has been a noticeable rise in disagreeable, even hostile, words and actions between people of differing viewpoints,” he said. “Clearly, our world is in critical need of healing.”

To that end, he selected a repertoire for the chorus that intends to trace the trajectory from bitterness and hatred to peace and love. “As we lift up our voices in solidarity with one another, we hope the words, melodies,
harmonies and rhythms that we sing combine to create waves of positive energy, Ramsdell said.

The concert is free and open to the public.
