The Seneca County Genealogical Society will be meeting on Tuesday February 7, 2023 at 6:30 pm at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library in the Frost-Kalnow Room. The program “Genealogy Surprises, Discoveries and Outright Lies: Sorting Out The Facts” presented by Melissa Barker, a Certified Archives Manager for the Houston County, Tennessee Archives & Museum, a Professional Genealogist, Lecturer, Teacher, Blogger and Writer. Ms. Barker’s online program will be seen live during the meeting, as well as online via Zoom for members. “Most genealogists have made discoveries, found surprises, and documented some family information that was outright lies. Whether we are doing the happy dance or shocked by what we have found, it is important that we document this information for future generations. Good or bad, it all tells the story of our ancestors. Learn from a seasoned genealogist and archivist the best way to handle the genealogy surprises, discoveries and outright lies that come our way”.
The meeting is free and open to the public. You can find listing of future meetings on the website (www.seneca-searchers.org) as well.
