The Annual Tiffin-Seneca Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Community Celebration is an in-person event on January 15, 2024, starting at 7:00 PM at Faith United Methodist Church Sanctuary, 75 N. Sandusky Street, Tiffin. Virtual streaming access will also be available on the Faith United Methodist Church Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/TiffinFaithUMC.

Traditionally, the Mayors of Tiffin and Fostoria open the celebration by reading the MLK Day proclamation and remarking on the significance of the national holiday.  Heidelberg and Tiffin University students serve as emcees. In addition to the keynote speech, the Tiffin-Seneca MLK Day event committee presents the Peacemaker Award to an individual or individuals who have directed their efforts toward building a better community in the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr.  This year's recipient if Wilma Farmer, advocate for those in need and for world peace.

The program includes vocal selections and the singing of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and “We Shall Overcome.” Pastors Charlene Thomas and Amy Vittorio of Faith United Methodist Church welcome the community to attend the free event and join in celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
