Learn about great things happening in the community at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library's latest program, "We Are All Still Human:" Giving a Voice to Those Living in Justice Systems on Tuesday, January 30 at 6:00 PM in the Frost Kalnow Room.

Dr. Sarah Lazzari, Assistant Professor of Criminology and Sociology at Heidelberg University, will discuss two programs that are giving those incarcerated in justice systems a voice through creative writing and genuine human connection: “Writers in Residence” and “Insight from the Inside.”

Writers in Residence is an organization that brings together schools and justice systems to teach creative writing to youth who are incarcerated to empower their voices and assist in their re-entry into society. Insight from the Inside, which was started by Dr. Lazzari and Paul Stark in 2022, partners criminal justice students with an incarcerated pen pal from a minimum-security facility to foster human connection and mutual insight into each other’s lives and situations. The quote “We Are All Still Human” comes from the title of a poem written by Brandi Raecine Eubank as part of this program.

This is a free program that is open to the public. No registration is required. For more information, call 419-447-3751, or go online to www.tiffinsenecalibrary.org.
